Walk Every Morning to Increase
If you’ve finally decided to burn off that belly fat for good, get started each day the right way – with a walk. Before you do anything else (okay, you can comb your hair and brush your teeth), get outside and walk for 30, 20 or even just 10 minutes around your neighborhood.
Walking in the morning will get your heart pumping and your metabolism churning, which will give you an energy and calorie-burning boost for the rest of the day. More importantly, your walk will get you in the right mindset.
Each morning you step outside with your sneakers laced up, you will be reconfirming your commitment to your own health. The increased adrenaline and feeling of pride when you finish will help keep you on track for the rest of your day. It’s also great to have a little workout already behind you before you get caught up with the rest of your busy day.
Make sure that you walk in the morning every single day, rain, shine, snow storm or otherwise. This will help cement the habit so that, eventually, you’ll hardly have to think about it at all. Keep your shoes by your bed, and as soon as that alarm rings, get up and get out.
Even a walk as short as ten minutes will elevate your heart rate, help you wake up naturally and get you motivated to tackle the rest of your day. As your fitness level increases and your time allows, increase the distance and speed of your walk. You may even want to graduate to jogging and then running.
